New York-the fashion show?

New York- the city of fashion? It sounds a little funny to me every time l look around at the people walking down the Big City’s streets …because at first glance …you can not distinguish any sense of fashion. Of course there are always exceptions but generally speaking people are dressed very weird. I know l am in the mega city where people all over the world live in and all they need is some comfortable clothes and shoes rather than stylish and fashionable BUT…l just can’t help it. That’s why if l am wearing a white shirt for instance, l am always expecting someone to ask me if l have a job interview ….or if l have heels on …well, l definitely must go on a date! If l am wearing a dress or a skirt l probably have to attend a party …and so on…. l have been asked so many times why l am so dressed up while in fact l was wearing very casual clothes so l conclude you can not be too fashionable in NY unless you have a reason! I don’t think is only me feeling this way…or maybe it depends on the way you were raised or the place you come from …but wearing high heels and looong nails with sweat pants doesn’t have anything to do with elegance or style. For me sweatpants are for gym / run only …or you can put them on while you are lying on your couch watching TV….even better when you are sleeping ….but kind of that’s it. And at the same topic, I don’t really know who told these people that is okay to leave the house in your pajamas just because you are going to the corner supermarket close to where you live. To me it is wrong. We are all civilized people living in a civilized society….so why don’t we behave accordingly?! For these reasons listed above l miss European cities with people wandering around dressed regular but looking good and classy….Hopefully l didn’t sound like police fashion l didn’t mean to criticize anybody and l want to end up my post with a great quotation coming from a fashion classy lady : “elegance is when the inside is as beautiful as outside. ” (Coco Chanel)
